To be considered for employment, applicants must match the following criteria:
  • Have a true heart for caregiving and love helping others in need
  • Be compassionate, flexible, honest, and reliable
  • Demonstrate good judgment and always put the client’s best interests first
  • Have an ability to anticipate a client’s individual needs and respect personal preferences
  • Have a positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Speak fluent English
  • Have a current driver’s license and your own vehicle with proof of insurance
  • Have a clean driving record and be able to pass a CORI background check and drug screen
  • Be a nonsmoker, able to lift at least 40 lbs. and physically cleared for this type of work
  • Provide 3-5 professional references
  • 5-7+ years of experience preferred
  • Have current or prior experience in a CNA, HHA, LPN, RN, Medical Assistant, Activities Assistant, Assisted Living, Elder Care, or Homemaker role

Your job responsibilities will include:

  • Building a trusting relationship by getting to know the client’s unique personality and proactively anticipating individual needs based on their personal preferences
  • Maintaining a high level of dignity and respect for our clients, their property, and families
  • Assisting the client with personal care, bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Providing medication and appointment reminders
  • Planning, preparing, and serving nutritional meals
  • Assisting with exercise and mobility challenges
  • Running errands and assisting with grocery shopping
  • Providing support with light housekeeping, laundry, and other household activities
  • Providing general companionship, conversation, and support of personal interests/hobbies
  • Providing transportation for appointments and other social activities
  • Monitoring the client’s overall condition and promptly alerting management of any significant changes
  • Maintaining the highest professional standards, participating in educational opportunities, and following Cahoon Care Associates’ policies and procedures
